Access to Miyajima

Access by JR

If you use the Shinkansen from Tokyo, Hakata or other stations,

Take a Shinkansen train to Hiroshima Station, and change to a train bound for Iwakuni on the JR San-yo Main Line. Get off the train at Miyajimaguchi Station. Train travel from Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi Station takes about 28 minutes.

Access by car

Leave the expressway at the Hatsukaichi IC if you are coming from Kansai or the east, or at the Ono IC if you are coming from Kyushu or the west, and go to Miyajimaguchi on National Route 2.

If you come by JR

Leave JR Miyajimaguchi Station through the ticket gates, and walk through the underpass to the Miyajimaguchi Passenger Terminal Building.

Buy your ticket at the ticket office (counter or ticket machine).
* If you use an IC card to board the ferry, have your card scanned when disembarking from the ferry.

Board your ferry from the pier’s boarding gate.

Give your ticket to the ticket gate staff when disembarking from the ferry.
* If you use an IC card to board the ferry, have your card scanned when disembarking from the ferry.

If you come by car

Park your car in the parking area near Miyajimaguchi Pier (for a fee).

Walk to the Miyajimaguchi Passenger Terminal Building.

Buy your ticket at the ticket office (counter or ticket machine).

Board your ferry from the pier’s boarding gate.

Give your ticket to the ticket gate staff when disembarking from the ferry.
* If you use an IC card to board the ferry, have your card scanned when disembarking from the ferry.

If you wish to transport your car by ferry

Drive through the JR Miyajima Pier rotary, and then follow the signs for the “Car boarding gate to Miyajima.”

Stop in the area for cars to stop, in front of the boarding gate.
* If you use an IC card to board the ferry, have your card scanned when disembarking from the ferry.

Buy your ticket at the ticket office (counter or ticket machine).

Drive into the ferry following the instructions of the guide staff.
